Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)

The list of data deliverables a contract requires, each with format, content, and delivery schedule.

A CDRL (DD Form 1423 in DoD contracts) enumerates every report, plan, and data item the contractor must deliver, referencing a Data Item Description that defines its content and format. CDRLs carry real cost: each one is labor. Pricing a proposal without reading the CDRL list is a reliable way to underbid.
