Women-Owned Small Business
A set-aside program for small businesses at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizen women in NAICS codes where women-owned firms are underrepresented.
Eligibility
- Small business under SBA size standard for the opportunity's NAICS
- At least 51% unconditional, direct ownership by one or more U.S. citizen women
- Women owners must manage day-to-day operations and make long-term decisions
- SBA WOSB certification (self-certification no longer accepted as of October 2020)

- EDWOSB sole-source awards in underrepresented NAICS
- Smaller competitive field vs. open competition
Certification path
Free certification through certify.sba.gov. Third-party certifications from approved organizations are also accepted.
