Capability Statement

A one-to-two-page marketing document that summarizes a contractor's core competencies, past performance, and differentiators for federal buyers.

A capability statement is the federal contractor's equivalent of a resume — a concise marketing document delivered to contracting officers, small-business specialists, and prime partners. Standard sections include: company overview, core competencies, differentiators, past performance, corporate data (UEI, CAGE, NAICS codes, certifications), and contact information. A strong capability statement is visually scannable and specific — vague superlatives ("world-class", "innovative") are a common weakness.
